Craftmanship, nature and beauty
The swallow is a symbol at the heart of our brand, representing the comforting rhythm of coming home. Each spring, swallows journey from Africa to the UK, returning to the same nesting spot year after year. Across cultures, they’ve come to stand for homecoming, loyalty, and the pull of familiar ground — much like a cup of tea, which offers a moment to pause, reset, and feel at home wherever you are.
Our packaging design has been hand illustrated by a British Designer, inspired by William Morris, the 19th Century designer known for his love of craftsmanship, nature and beauty.

A note from Angela
MEET OUR FOUNDER
There’s a whole world of tea out there — so many different types and flavours — which I’m excited to share with you. Tea has been both my career and my passion for over 20 years. Working as a Buyer and Blender for brands such as Twinings and Fortnum and Mason, I’ve travelled to some amazing places and discovered many wonderful teas (and people) along the way!
Tea transcends borders and speaks its own language — a global symbol of hospitality, friendship, love and comfort. The power of a cup of tea is simply unrivalled.
While many of us enjoy familiar favourites from well-known brands, we don’t always hear much about where the tea is grown or what gives it its distinct character. At Albion, our mission is to change that. To share the stories behind each tea and make speciality tea feel more accessible. We’ve seen this same journey unfold with wine and coffee — now it’s tea’s turn.
TEA OF THE MONTH

A refreshing golden blend inspired by the beautiful chalk landscape of the Bourne Valley. High grown Rwandan lends an uplifting note to malty Assam in this classic British breakfast tea.

About Tea
Flavourings are ingredients added to enhance the taste and aroma of food and drinks. At Albion Tea, we only use natural flavourings, which are extracted from real fruits, herbs, and other plant-based sources. We’re committed to using high-quality, natural ingredients to ensure the best possible flavour in every cup.
Yes, our teas are naturally gluten-free. We don’t add any gluten-containing ingredients to our blends.
Yes, all of our teas are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans. We don’t use any animal-derived ingredients in our blends—just high-quality tea leaves, herbs, spices, and natural flavourings.
Yes, all tea types, including green tea, contain caffeine — typically about half the amount found in coffee. The amount can vary depending on the type of tea and how it's brewed.
Matcha has more caffeine than other teas because you’re drinking the whole powdered leaf, not just an infusion from brewed leaves.
Ethics & Sustainability
Our supply chain is fully traceable—from the field where the tea was plucked to the farm where it was produced. We work directly with tea growers to ensure that as much value as possible stays within the producing region, rather than being lost through a long, fragmented supply chain.
As buyers of speciality tea, we pay well above standard grade auction prices — because better quality commands better prices. By encouraging more customers to pay more for higher quality tea, we are commited to building a more sustainable and rewarding future for tea producers.
Yes, both our caddies and pouches are 100% recyclable — just pop them into your regular recycling bin.
Our tea caddies are made from tinplate (steel coated with tin), a highly recyclable material that can be recycled indefinitely without quality loss, making it a champion of the circular economy!
Our pouches are made from recyclable LDPE (low-density polyethylene), a mono-material labeled with plastic code 4, which is accepted in most household recycling programs.
Only one of our teas — China Green — is certified organic. However, all our teas meet strict European standards for pesticide residues and food safety (MRLs).
Organic certification can be costly for many tea growers and doesn’t necessarily reflect the tea’s flavour or quality. That’s why instead we choose our teas based on overall impact: including taste, brightness, body and strength, colour, leaf style, and freshness.
